Mandatory Tutoring

Haysville Middle School currently offers a mandatory tutoring program that

is administered by the nine individual teams on a nightly (Monday-Thursday)

basis. This enables the staff member(s) that has each child to be available

to assist each child with their outstanding homework, or simple tutoring for

areas in need. This is a research-based procedure. Sessions run from 2:50 -

4:00 p.m. on each night service is provided. Students are expected to be in

the assigned mandatory tutoring session no later than 2:50 p.m.

 

Criteria for admission:

1)  Student has been referred by classroom teacher for three or more missing

assignments

2)  Student has educational need for basic tutoring, request of staff and/or

parent

 

Program evaluation criteria:

1)  Documentation through student grades pertaining to number of outstanding

assignment reduction

2)  Documentation through student grades to improved student achievement

 

 

Mandatory tutoring runs all week, except for the last day of that week.

For example, students have Friday off. So it would run Monday –Wednesday.
